Mass Planting - filling an area with just one or a few kinds of plants spaced close together. Often done to create a bold dramatic effect or to reduce maintenance.
As another growing season comes to a close, it is time to provide for some early Spring color. In September and early October, Park City Gardens distributed over 2000 daffodil bulbs to its many volunteers for planting in the public gardens they maintain, to community members who expressed a desire to plant them in their private gardens, and to the city of Merrill. Daffodil bulbs were planted in the Roundabout and additional bulbs were donated to the Park and Recreation Department for planting around the flag pole at the Smith Center.
This mass planting is intended to provide a visual impact of color throughout the community and say "hello" in spring.
